Winter Waders on the Otter Estuary

The Otter estuary may be the smallest in Devon, but a winter morning here is rarely quiet. The hide at the southern end is a good place to start.

Aim for the falling tide, when fresh mud is just beginning to show. Dress warmly, keep dogs on a lead, and check tide times and weather before travelling.
